Tales of VS. Allows Character Customization

PSP by Shawn

A new Tales of VS. scan has been released today. Two of the presumed characters have been confirmed, and hints of a character customization mode have been revealed. The game will pit the various Tales of characters in a fighting free-for-all, using their well-known Artes, locations from the different games, and even items from the various games, as well as each character's unique Mystic Arte.

Philia Felice (Tales of Destiny) and Mao (Tales of Rebirth), who we assumed were in the game due to their pictures appearing in a battle screenshot, have been "officially" confirmed as playable. No official word on Lloyd Irving or Colette Brunel (both from Tales of Symphonia), however.

This means the game is likely using a system similar to Super Smash Bros. where different color schemes are used when a character is used by more than one player so they can be differentiated. One of them seems to be using the short-hair character model (the third one), although it's unknown if the fourth model is also using it (the scan is too blurry). No word if the player has a choice on which model they want to use.

UPDATE: Clearer scans have been uploaded.
