Tales of Series 2010 Lineup Presentation: Radiant Mythology 3

Radiant Mythology 3PSP by Shawn

As stated in our previous article about Tales of Graces f, Namco Bandai held a press conference earlier today detailing the new Tales games revealed in scans earlier last week. This post deals with the new news surrounding Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology 3.

As we stated before, the game will feature 80 different Tales of characters, up from the second title's 50 characters. However, due to the work needed to implement all of those characters, the developers are only having 76 of them be playable (similar to the first game which had a few of the characters as non-playable). The Kanonno for this title (remember that each iteration of the character is a different person) is Kanonno Grassvalley (official romanization) and is voiced by Aya Hirano.

As for the improvements in the title, there are many. The character creation tools in the game are vastly improved, such as allowing a character's height to be modified and additional spots for accessories. The "behind" camera view used in the first two titles, which at times made seeing around you harder, is replaced with a bird's-eye view camera. Players can also perform a data install much like many of the recent PSP titles, which will help with loading times.

As with the previous title, cut-ins will be included during the Tales character's Mystic Artes, although it seems they might be moving to a Tales of VS.-style format where it's a partial body cut-in. For characters, like those from Tales of Legendia, they will receive their own unique Mystic Artes. Currently, the new characters in the game currently revealed consist of Shirley Fennes (Legendia), Chelsea Torn (Destiny), Judith (Vesperia), Meredy (Eternia), Kohak Hearts (Hearts) and Norma Beatty (Legendia).

Namco Bandai also announced that Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology 2 would be re-released under the "The Best" label on September 29 for 2,800 Yen. The official website for the game can be found here, although like Tales of Graces f's website, it's just a teaser website at the moment.
