Tales of Legendia Confirmed For Twin Brave Plus More Game Details
Namco Bandai through its media partners has released a treasure trove of new information regarding their upcoming Sony PSP title Tales of the Heroes: Twin Brave. In addition to the reveal of two more characters being added to the game a bevy of new game details were also revealed.
Unlike the other Tales escort titles on the PSP, this game plays similarly to the Musou/Dynasty Warriors franchise with the player controlling one character with a partner character being controlled by the game's AI. Characters from the mothership titles (and surprisingly enough Tales of the Tempest) will be included.
The first update comes via VJump Books as a teaser for the upcoming Jump Festa 2012 event in Japan in which they posted a trailer showing parts of the game's opening. In addition, the blog post also reveals that Tales of Legendia's Senel Coolidge and Chloe Valens would be representing that game, which up until now hadn't been officially revealed.
The second update comes via 4Gamer.net and revolves around the gameplay mechanics found in the game. The battle system revolves around the Aggressive Chain Capacity (A-CC) system, an advancement of the Chain Capacity system found in some of the previous mothership titles in the series. Unlike those games, however, CC only depletes while using Artes and is gained back as you land successful attacks against your opponents.
The other main gameplay mechanic is the Twin Brave mode. During battle you can either let the gauge build up or deal our Partner Attacks which can work as follow-up or counters to enemy attacks. If you let the gauge fill up completely it will let you utilize the mode mentioned earlier which increases your current character's attack power and has you and your partner deal attacks in tandem.
The update also explained more about the two games modes that were previously mentioned a few weeks ago. The "story" mode is the standard fare for an Tales escort title with characters from multiple games in one world with cutscenes to tie everything together outside of battle. The "free" mode lets you pick and choose your pair of characters and explore whichever dungeon you prefer.
Tales of the Heroes: Twin Brave will be released in Japan on February 23, 2012 for the Sony PSP. No North American or European release has been announced.
