Ludger Has Another Form In Tales of Xillia 2

PS3 by Shawn

Some of you may have noticed that Ludger's silhouette appeared in the logo, but with another version of him that looked very familiar. It turns out that Ludger has the ability to switch between two different worlds which follow different histories, one example being some characters which died in the original game still being alive in the other world.

Ludger Has Another Form In Tales of Xillia 2 Tales of Xillia 2 is a sequel to the original Tales of Xillia and takes place a year after its conclusion. The sequel features an improved battle system which allows the player to switch between different weapon styles at-will during battle. Direct choices can now be made during specific cutscenes similar to Square Enix's Final Fantasy XIII-2 which affects the outcome of the events in real-time.

If you remember the new character in the previous scan, he apparently was aware of Ludger's ability and asks him to venture into that world to destroy it by destroying something called a Time Factor. The catch: Ludger has to destroy it before he can go back to his original world.

This alternate form also plays into the game's battle system as Ludger can transform by filling up a new gauge in the bottom-right corner of the screen and press L3+R3 once it's filled. While he's in this form the normal HP/TP/AC rules don't apply.

Ludger Has Another Form In Tales of Xillia 2 (2) Finally, we have another new NPC in Xillia 2. The woman (voiced by Rie Tanaka) is Nova's older twin and is the secretary of the CEO featured in the previous scan from earlier this month. At the end of this post you will also find a new trailer from the official website which showcases some of the game's environments.

Tales of Xillia 2 will be released in Japan on November 1. The first game will be released sometime in 2013 in both North America and Europe.
