Earlier this month, we found out that Ludger has an alternate form in Tales of Xillia 2. Today we have a new scan which fully reveals the partial form that was shown off previously, along with the return of one of the original's most prominent characters.

Tales of Xillia 2 is a sequel to the original Tales of Xillia and takes place a year after its conclusion. The sequel features an improved battle system which allows the player to switch between different weapon styles at-will during battle. Direct choices can now be made during specific cutscenes similar to Square Enix's Final Fantasy XIII-2 which affects the outcome of the events in real-time.

As can be seen to the left, Ludger has a completely different look in his "Corpse Shell" form once he fully transitions into his alternate form, which appears to resemble that darkened character with the bright eyes we saw in the first trailer.

In addition, another new batch of scans have revealed that Jude Mathis from the first Tales of Xillia will return for the sequel. Much more grown-up than his personality in the original Xillia, the new Jude is now a researcher trying to research Origin in an attempt to develop magic that doesn't harm the the spirits.

Tales of Xillia 2 will be released in Japan on November 1. The first game will be released sometime in 2013 in both North America and Europe.
