Famitsu Rates Tales of Hearts R

by Eric

Tales of Hearts R's release date in Japan is coming up next week, which means the review scores for the game have finally started releasing. Today we have news of Famitsu's official rating for the game.

Tales of Hearts R, like Tales of Innocence R, is a re-imagining of its source material but this time in a fully 3D-based world. The battle system now takes place in 3D, although a new "chase link" system has been implemented which keeps the aerial attack mechanics from the original Nintendo DS version intact as players can chase after enemies when they are launched into the air.

The game received a 9/9/8/8 giving it a total of 34 out of 40, which is 1 more point than the original Tales of Hearts. The game was praised for its easy to use battle system, its improved graphics, and the two new party members all leading to an engaging gaming experience for veterans of the first game and new players alike. However, the reasons for the few points off was not made clear in the article.

Tales of Hearts R will be released on March 7 in Japan. No word on an North American or European release has been announced.
