Costume DLC for Tales of Hearts R Starting this Month

by Eric

Tales of Hearts R is now available in Japan, and right before its release information about DLC costume packs had been revealed. These sets include favorites like the butler/maid costumes, school outfits, swimsuits, idol costumes, and of course Tales cameos.

Tales of Hearts R, like Tales of Innocence R, is a re-imagining of its source material but this time in a fully 3D-based world. The battle system now takes place in 3D, although a new "chase link" system has been implemented which keeps the aerial attack mechanics from the original Nintendo DS version intact as players can chase after enemies when they are launched into the air.

DLC available at the game’s launch includes the butler/maid outfits at 300 yen each, the swimsuits at 500 yen each, and the cameo costumes at 300 yen each. The cameo costumes are as follows:

Shing: Caius (Tales of the Tempest)
Kohak: Marta (Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World)
Hisui: Spada (Tales of Innocence)
Beryl: Patty (tales of Vesperia)
Innes: Judith (Tales of Vesperia)
Kunzite: Repede (Tales of Vesperia)
Calcedny: Yggdrasill (Tales of Symphonia)
Galando: Malik (Tales of Graces)

On March 14 the Idol and School costumes will be released and cost 300 yen each.

Tales of Hearts R was released on March 7 in Japan. No word on a North American or European release has been announced.
