Tales of Graces f PSN Demo Coming In September

After releasing a couple scans following the reveal of the upcoming Tales games for Japan, Namco Bandai has been silent on revealing news about the games. That ends today, as a new scan has been leaked which reveals Richard's new costume, as well as news of a demo for the game.

Tales of Graces f (the f stands for "future") has an extra post-game story which takes place after the game's original ending. Without spoiling anything, there seems to be an increase in the monster population, which increases the amount of monster attacks around the world. This causes Asbel and his group to set off once again to determine the cause behind the recent disturbance.

Tales of Graces f, PS3, Namco Bandai, Sony As can be seen in the scan, it appears that Richard will also be receiving a new costume in the post-game content in Tales of Graces f, as well as confirming that he, in fact, will be playable, as can be seen in what appears to be a new Blast Calibur. The game will also have a new "Accelerate Mode" added in, which is supposed to heighten attack power and casting speed when activated. No word on how this is activated and/or what stipulations it brings.

Tales of Graces f, as with previous Tales games, will have its own pre-order bonuses. A DVD with a drama skit will be included, as well as DLC with PS3 premium themes and cameo costumes. Asbel will be getting Kyle Dunamis's costume, Sophie will be getting Rutee Katrea's costume, and Richard will be getting Judas's costume.

More information can be found in the full story.

Tales of Graces f Will Be At TGS 2010

Tales of Graces f Will Be At TGS 2010

Last June, Yoshizumi Makoto, the executive producer for Tales of Vesperia and producer for Tales of the Abyss and Tales of Symphonia and the "big boss" when it comes to Tales, tweeted about doing a special feature in an upcoming issue of Famitsu, which turned out to just be a Tales of Phantasia: Narikiri Dungeon X reveal. He's back tweeting again, but this time it has to do with a game we already know about: Tales of Graces f.

According to Yoshizumi Makoto, Namco Bandai will be showcasing Tales of Graces f at their booth at Tokyo Game Show 2010, which takes place next month. No mention was made of the currently unnamed "Tales of PS3", but it may be possible some more concept artwork or other minor details might be released --- the full reveal is currently stated for later in the year in December.

Tales of Graces f is set for a Winter 2010 release in Japan on the PS3. No release date for either the Wii or PS3 version in North America or Europe.

Tales of Graces f Unveils Website With Two New Videos

Since the initial reveal of Tales of Graces f late last month, the official website for the game was only a teaser site with the game's official logo and some music playing in the background. Namco Bandai has finally properly unveiled the website, and it includes some new character videos.

There doesn't seem to be anything new in the videos, but it does give a better look at the improved in-game graphics which we've only seen in motion in the game's first trailer.

Tales of Graces f is set for a Winter 2010 release in Japan on the PS3. No release date f

Save Data Unlocks Confirmed for TotW: Radiant Mythology 3

After revealing Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology 3 earlier this month, Namco Bandai has announced that they will be including several unlockables for players who have bought the recent PSP Tales titles in Japan.

Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology 3 is the third game in the Radiant Mythology series, which brings together Tales characters from many of the games in the long-running series. The third entry features 30 more characters for a total of 80 (with 76 of them being playable), an enhanced character creation tool, a data install option and a brand new aerial-view camera angle.

Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology 3 can read save data from both of the previous Radiant Mythology games as well as Tales of Phantasia: Narikiri Dungeon X. Having any of these saves will enable the player to unlock something in Radiant Mythology 3, though it has not been specified yet what can be unlocked. Including NDX was most likely a move to allow for new Tales fans to still be able to unlock things in RM3.

Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology 3 is currently set for an early 2011 release in Japan on the PSP. No word on an North American or European release.

100K First Week Sales For Tales of Phantasia: Narikiri Dungeon X

With Tales of Graces's sub-par sales in Japan, many have been wondering just how well Tales of Phantasia: Narikiri Dungeon X, the first Tales release since Graces, would do in retail. According to recent sales figures, it looks like the game is doing pretty well, especially for a PSP title.

According to 4Gamer.net's sales figures, the game has sold 108,356 copies, just under Tales of Vesperia's ~140K PS3 port first week sales and above the Xbox 360's ~100K first week sales. Considering this is a PSP title, it's quite impressive indeed.

Tales of Phantasia: Narikiri Dungeon X was released on August 5, 2010 in Japan. No word on an North American or European release.

The Future Of Tales Is In The West (Part 2)

Fri, Aug 6th, 2010, 9:15 pm (EST) by Shawn
The Future Of Tales Is In The West (Part 2)

In yesterday's first part of this article, we detailed the recent events surrounding Namco Bandai's postings on Namco Games's Facebook wall and the misconceptions surrounding comments that it would be incredibly easy for the company to release the PS3 port of Tales of Vesperia. This second part details what both sides can do to help release more Tales games in the west.

What Namco Bandai needs to realize with the Tales series is that while it might not be as big of a juggernaut as other RPGs such as Final Fantasy or the company's very own Tekken franchise, there is a very passionate fan base, much like the fan bases for Atlus's Shin Megami Tensei and NIS America's Disgaea franchises.

The company also needs to realize that part of the lackluster sales can be attributed to two factors: release dates and fan outreach. One such example of the former would be Tales of the Abyss's release in North America. Namco Bandai released the title mere weeks before Final Fantasy XII and had little-to-no advertising, with only a few websites having advertisements for the game, compared to Square Enix's mammoth advertising for the their title. With Square Enix pushing out a limited edition version of Final Fantasy XII, many gamers were forced to pick one of the two and many forgoed picking up Tales of the Abyss if they happened to noticed it. The lackluster sales that followed only helped to push the game to the back of the store, furthering hampering its sales.

Keep on reading for more of the second part of the article.
