Namco: We're Working On US Tales Releases

PS3WiiPSPDS by Shawn

Since the release of Tales of Vesperia on the Xbox 360, which was followed by a Japan-only release of a Director's Cut version of the game on the PS3 which appeared to have been in the works from the beginning, as well as a plethora of Japan-only titles in the series, many have wondered if the company still cared about the series in North America and Europe. Namco Bandai has just made a statement on their official Facebook page about just that.

Earlier today, after receiving numerous fan posts on their Facebook page, as well on other social media websites such as Twitter and YouTube, the latter of which was likely the cause of their comments section being disabled, the company finally responded to their fans with the following statement:

Firstly, thank you all for your excitement around the series. We also love the series here at Namco of America and are working with our Japan counterparts to determine if we'll see US releases for these games. Unfortunately, we don't currently have any plans to bring Tales of Graces to the US. If this changes, we'll let you know as soon as we can!

Tales of Innocence Translation Patch Released

InnocenceAbsolute Zero TranslationsDS by Shawn

It's been almost two years in the making, but Absolute Zero Translations has finally released their fan translation patch for Tales of Innocence, after stating earlier last month that they were on track for a late June 2010 release.

The website has all of the instructions on how to patch the game with the translation (you need your own copy, however, the download only includes the patch), as well as a detailed listing of the terminology used throughout the game.

For those wanting to comment about the release, we'll defer to the existing thread on Absolute Zero Translations's forum.

Project K: A New Tales of Game?

RumoursDS by Shawn

It appears Namco Bandai might be planning to reveal another Tales of game, according to a teaser website that has just launched on Namco Bandai's official Japanese website.

The website, which only has Next RPG Project K as the title and a countdown clock (which currently has six days remaining), has nothing else that would signify what this mysterious game might be. When it originally popped up on the list of games on Namco Bandai's website, it had a Nintendo DS icon attached, although that marking has now been removed (it could be like before with Tales of Vesperia on the Xbox 360, where the platform was accidentally leaked before the official announcement).

Thanks to this blog, it could be possible this is a spin-off or is related to Sgt. Frog (Sergeant Keroro), which was used as a tie-in in the PlayStation 3 version of Vesperia as a DLC costume title for Karol, due to the K_66 in the URL.

In any case, we should know around November 12th if this is the next Tales of title or not.

Absolute Zero Translation's Tales of Innocence Project Turns One Year Old

InnocenceAbsolute Zero TranslationsDS by Shawn

As a present to fans of his Tales of Innocence translation over at Absolute Zero Translations for its first birthday, throughhim413 has put up a special video showing some of the game in action with commentary of how the project has been going.

Tales of Innocence was the second Tales of title on the Nintendo DS, the first being Tales of the Tempest and the third and latest being Tales of Hearts. This fan translation is quite professional, on par and even above the level Namco Bandai puts into their own translations.
