Tales of Xillia's Fourth Trailer Up Along With New System Videos

XilliaPS3 by Shawn

Last week Namco Bandai announced that this week would feature Tales of Xillia's fourth trailer alongside a new system video. We got both today but we also got two other videos showcasing even more of the game's numerous features.

Tales of Xillia will utilize the contrast between light and shadow, which will lead to the game having a different art style direction than Vesperia's anime-style graphics or Graces's watercolor-style graphics (it could be more of a hand-painted or oil painting-like feel if the concept artwork is any indication). Baba stated that when he saw some of the concept artwork images running on actual hardware he was very impressed.

As expected the fourth trailer revolves around Jude. We get to see some of that white-haired woman from the boxart but the trailer doesn't reveal much about her other than the fact that she's related to Jude to some degree.

Get Your First Look At Tales of the Abyss In English

Abyss (3DS)3DS by Shawn

Namco Bandai's community manager Filthierich said earlier this week that some form of Tales news would be released during Comic-Con 2011 and it looks like that news has come forth in the form of a new trailer and localized screenshots for Tales of the Abyss 3DS.

Tales of the Abyss was originally released on the PS2 on December 15, 2005 and was localized in North America on October 10, 2006. The game was regarded as an improvement over Tales of Symphonia, extending that game's multi-line battle system into a battle system which allows players to freely move about the field in battle.

Third Tales of Xillia Trailer Now Released

XilliaPS3 by Shawn

Earlier this week, Namco Bandai announced that a third trailer for Tales of Xillia would be released on July 8, 2011. Today's that day, which means the trailer is now available. And let's just say it was worth the wait.

The third trailer, which comes in at a little over six minutes, showcases more about the characters and shows off the anime cutscenes. As usual, a skit can be found at the end of the video.

Tales of Xillia Tales of Festival 2011 Trailer Now Live

XilliaPS3 by Shawn

Earlier this month, Namco Bandai announced that two new trailers for Tales of Xillia would go up following the events of the recent Tales of Festival that took place over the last two days. Both trailers have just went up and we have an analysis of both of them.

The game will utilize the contrast between light and shadow, which will lead to the game having a different art style direction than Vesperia's anime-style graphics or Graces's watercolor-style graphics (it could be more of a hand-painted or oil painting-like feel if the concept artwork is any indication). Baba stated that when he saw some of the concept artwork images running on actual hardware he was very impressed.

First Tales of Xillia Trailer Released

XilliaPS3 by Shawn

Right on cue with the website reveal, Namco Bandai has just released the first trailer for Tales of Xillia, and there's quite a bit of information in this one, unlike some of the previous reveal trailers for other games in the series. This follows the magazine scan leak just hours earlier.

The graphics look quite impressive and appear to build off of Tales of Vesperia's improvements, but this time with a fair bit more effort put into the game's environment. In battle, it looks like aspects of Team Destiny's battle system, such as Around Step, are taking part, with the male character at one disappearing and reappearing behind an enemy. The male and female main characters can also combine their Artes together, a first for the series.

The trailer also reveals that ufotable, not Production I.G., will be in charge of the animated cutscenes. Motoi Sakuraba, the composer for the majority of the titles in the series, will be solely retaining his role.

Keep on reading to see the trailer.
