Van Grants Is Playable In Radiant Mythology 3

Radiant Mythology 3PSP by Shawn

Earlier today, we mentioned that Van Grants was leaked for a second time. Many noticed how odd it was that he was included with the other playable characters, and thus wondered what was going on. Well, it looks like Namco Bandai has thrown us one huge, unexpected curve ball: a playable Van Grants.

Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology 3, Sony PSP, Sony, Namco Bandai Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology 3 is the third game in the Radiant Mythology series, which brings together Tales characters from many of the games in the long-running series. The third entry features 30 more characters for a total of 80 (with 76 of them being playable), an enhanced character creation tool, a data install option and a brand new aerial-view camera angle.

As can be seen in the scan, Van Grants is a playable character. Emil Emil Castagnier and Richter Abend are also "officially" confirmed in the scan (after being outed in separate incidents late last year). The scan also officially mentions Mithos Yggdrasill, who was previously outed in a batch of official press screenshots.

Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology 3 is set to be released for the PSP on February 10, 2011 in Japan. No word on an North American or European release.

New Tales of VS. Trailer

PSP by Shawn

The Tales of VS. trailer from the recent Tales of Festival in Japan has been released. The game will pit the various Tales of characters in a fighting free-for-all, using their well-known Artes, locations from the different games, and even items from the various games, as well as each character's unique Mystic Arte.

The trailer shows off all of the currently revealed characters, such as Yuri from Tales of Vesperia. It then cuts into footage of the game in action, showing off basic attacks, Artes, and the environmental traps revealed a while back, which are much like the ones found in games like the Super Smash Bros. series. Shots from the menus are also shown, including the area where you can give new skills and increase your character's stats. The trailer finishes off by showing some scenes from the game's opening video.

Tales of VS. is due to be released in Japan on August 6th. No North American release date has currently been announced, although Namco Bandai has filed trademarks for both this game and Tales of Graces (Graces also is trademarked in Europe).

The video can be found in the full story.

Four New Tales of VS. Videos

PSP by Shawn

Four more Tales of VS. videos have been released (Shing Meteorite, Yuri Lowell, Luke fon Fabre, and Richter Abend). The game will pit the various Tales of characters in a fighting free-for-all, using their well-known Artes, locations from the different games, and even items from the various games, as well as each character's unique Mystic Arte.

The videos show us some new information about the game. There will be 2-vs-2 teams available (as can be seen in Shing's video when one team is the "green" team and the other is the "yellow" team). Also, some attacks will be able to "push" the other characters off to the edges of the field, much like some of the special attacks in games like Super Smash Bros. Some of these abilities had been hinted earlier, but it's much easier to notice them when you can see them in action.

The videos can be found in the full story.
