A new Director's Corner Video has been added to the official minisite for Tales of VS. on Tales Channel, the Japanese hub for the Tales of series. The game will pit the various Tales of characters in a fighting free-for-all, using their well-known Artes, locations from the different games, and even items from the various games, as well as each character's unique Mystic Arte.
Like before, this is a combo video. The first half has the Director facing off against Luke fon Fabre using Asch. He deals a myriad of combo attacks against Luke, ending with Asch's Mystic Arte. The other half has the Director facing off against Lloyd Irving using Kratos Aurion, again dealing a string of combos and finishing with an Mystic Arte.
The Tales of VS. trailer from the recent Tales of Festival in Japan has been released. The game will pit the various Tales of characters in a fighting free-for-all, using their well-known Artes, locations from the different games, and even items from the various games, as well as each character's unique Mystic Arte.
The trailer shows off all of the currently revealed characters, such as Yuri from Tales of Vesperia. It then cuts into footage of the game in action, showing off basic attacks, Artes, and the environmental traps revealed a while back, which are much like the ones found in games like the Super Smash Bros. series. Shots from the menus are also shown, including the area where you can give new skills and increase your character's stats. The trailer finishes off by showing some scenes from the game's opening video.
Tales of VS. is due to be released in Japan on August 6th. No North American release date has currently been announced, although Namco Bandai has filed trademarks for both this game and Tales of Graces (Graces also is trademarked in Europe).
Anise Tatlin (Tales of the Abyss) and Kratos Aurion (Tales of Symphonia) have been officially revealed to be in Tales of VS. Two more system videos were also released. The game will pit the various Tales of characters in a fighting free-for-all, using their well-known Artes, locations from the different games, and even items from the various games, as well as each character's unique Mystic Arte.
Like the previous character videos, we get to see some of their attacks, ending with their respective Mystic Arte. System Video #4 shows the intricacies of the battle system in Tales of VS., such as Critical Guard and Magic Guard, as well as chaining together combos. System Video #5 shows that Over Limits will be used to perform Mystic Artes, like the other Tales of games. Philia's Sacred Penance is shown in this video as an example.
