Tales of Innocence R Post-Release News Roundup

by Shawn

You may have noticed there's been a lull since our last post on Tales Union. Due to a number of behind-the-scenes stuff regarding GamingUnion.net and other IRL matters I was unable to post headlines up. That's finished for the most part so normal posting should resume again, but before that we'll be doing a quick roundup of the news that broke since our last posting.

According to Namco Bandai the R in the title means "re-imagining", not remake like some had previously thought. Tales of Innocence R will include a revised game theme, a new battle system and a new gameplay system alongside a new opening movie.

The scan to the left reveals that Kohak and Hisui Hearts from Tales of Hearts will be the game's team cameo battle opponents (with Milla Maxwell from Tales of Xillia being previously revealed as the singles cameo battle opponent). Two more Mystic Arte cut-ins, this time coming from some of the game's antagonists, are also visible in the scan along with DLC attachments for Sony's two cat mascots Toro and Kuro. Finally the scan reveals that extra costumes can be unlocked once the player plays through the game a second time.

Tales of Graces f Poster Shows Up In North American GameStop Stores

Graces fPS3 by Shawn

According to posts on Namco Bandai's official Tales of Facebook wall, it appears that some GameStop retailers in North America are receiving Tales of Graces f promotional posters.

Tales of Graces f (the f stands for "future") has an extra post-game story which takes place after the game's original ending. Without spoiling anything, there seems to be an increase in the monster population, which increases the amount of monster attacks around the world. This causes Asbel and his group to set off once again to determine the cause behind the recent disturbance.

It appears that said posters will be going up this Monday and that apparently Tales of the Abyss 3DS might be getting a poster as well (reports are suggesting that a placeholder box for pre-order purposes has already shown up for the Nintendo 3DS title). It's not currently know how many GameStops will be putting this up, however.

Tales of Graces f will be released in North America on March 13, 2012, with the European release following sometime in Summer 2012 where it will be also be localized in German and French.

UPDATE (1/22): We've clarified the promotional material for Tales of the Abyss 3DS and have added an image of the poster to the original headline.

Tales of Innocence R Gets Rated In Famitsu

by Shawn

With a little less than a week before the official release of Tales of Innocence R in Japan, Famitsu has released their official score for the game.

According to Namco Bandai the R in the title means "re-imagining", not remake like some had previously thought. Tales of Innocence R will include a revised game theme, a new battle system and a new gameplay system alongside a new opening movie.

As can be seen in the scant, Tales of Innocence R received a 36/40 (9/9/9/9). While not as high as Tales of Xillia's score, it's still a respectable score.

Tales of the Heroes: Twin Brave Demo Incoming This Month

PSP by Shawn

Last time we got a new Tales of the Heroes: Twin Brave scan it revealed that Schwartz from Tales of Legendia would be one of the game's cameo bosses. We have another scan this week which reveals word of a demo and a new super deformed character option.

Unlike the other Tales escort titles on the PSP, this game plays similarly to the Musou/Dynasty Warriors franchise with the player controlling one character with a partner character being controlled by the game's AI. Characters from the mothership titles (and surprisingly enough Tales of the Tempest) will be included.

According to the scan, the demo will be released on January 26 which is the same day as Tales of Innocence R's release. This demo will feature a special Team Innocence-themed story which won't be available in the final version of the game and is being done as a tie-in of sorts with the other game's release. The scan also reveals that items can be equipped to the characters which changes them into a super-deformed (SD) style which doubles the size of their heads while leaving their bodies the same size.

Tales of Innocence R Paid DLC Confirmed

by Shawn

With only a few weeks before Tales of Innocence R's Japanese release on the PlayStation Vita, Namco Bandai has officially announced the first round of paid DLC for the upcoming title.

According to Namco Bandai the R in the title means "re-imagining", not remake like some had previously thought. Tales of Innocence R will include a revised game theme, a new battle system and a new gameplay system alongside a new opening movie.

The (exceptionally blurry) scans show that some of the DLC will be Idolmaster-themed costumes for the female characters and some sort of black-theme costumes for the male characters (too blurry to make out from the scan). The scan also reveals some Tales cameo-themed costumes with Ruca as Jude, Iria as Rutee. The other scan showcases an extra post-game dungeon which available after completing the game at least one time through.

UPDATE (1/11): We've added clearer scans and updated the information from the original headline.

Legendia's Schwartz Is Twin Brave's Second Confirmed Boss

PSP by Shawn

A Tales of the Heroes: Twin Brave new scan has leaked this morning which reveals a new boss character for the game: Schwartz from Tales of Legendia.

The official website only has three spots for the game's cameo bosses so the current assumption is that there will be only one more boss added to the game, but this could always change as we get closer to the game's release next month.

Tales of Innocence R Holiday News Wrapup

by Shawn

Following our previous Tales of the Heroes: Twin Brave update earlier today, we have another wrap-up update for Tales of Innocence to bring you tonight.

According to Namco Bandai the R in the title means "re-imagining", not remake like some had previously thought. Tales of Innocence R will include a revised game theme, a new battle system and a new gameplay system alongside a new opening movie.

First up is a new partial scan showing off Spada's newly revised past-life cut-in. There doesn't seem to be anything else of note in the scan besides that but fans of the character should enjoy it. As for the other updates, we have two new character videos for Spada and QQ and the game's first commercial.

Tales of the Heroes: Twin Brave Holiday News Wrapup

PSP by Shawn

Those who have been following our social media websites already know this, but due to some holiday-related issues I haven't had the time to post much of anything on Gaming Union or Tales Union for the last week. So I'll be doing a wrap-up of the latest Tales of the Heroes: Twin Brave and Tales of Innocence R news, starting with Twin Brave.

First off we have a scan revealing that Veigue and Tytree will be the characters representing Tales of Rebirth in Twin Brave. The scan also reveals part of Senel's Mystic Arte cut-in. The first video below is the Jump Festa 2012 trailer which showcases the opening (SHINE) and ending (NEW DAYS), both by artist FUNKIST. The animation itself is being handled by Sunrise (the animation team behind the Tales of the Abyss anime).
