Last week, Yoshidumi-san, the Executive Producer of the Tales series, visited Namco Bandai's North American offices and signed a few copies of the limited edition version of Tales of Vesperia. That same post also hinted at a future contest. If you already saw the title, you may be wondering: "Why is this on Tales Union?"
In collaboration with Namco Bandai's Community Manager FilthieRich, the official Tales Series Facebook and Tales Union are working together to create a contest specifically made for you Tales fans which will test your skills in a uniquely Tales-ish way. There are six "tickets" in total, each one giving you a better chance of being the lucky fan who wins. And what are the prizes, you may ask?

This Week InXilliaGraces fRadiant Mythology 3PS3PSP by Shawn
(Apologizes for the lateness in getting this week's news review up, had a number of outside circumstances --- this includes the two other stories that broke earlier today, which will be up soon.)
This week was quite an interesting week. We got our first look at Tales of Xillia, and there was also number of news stories revolving around Tales of Graces f and Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology 3.
The theorized "Xillia" trademark turned out to be the name of the next Tales title, and we first got a surprise with two of the notable character designers each doing a design for the game's two main characters.
We also got our first look at the game in action via an official trailer from Namco Bandai themselves.
Keep on reading to see more of last week's Tales recap.
Today has been a crazy week, hasn't it? Namco Bandai threw us a curve ball with the surprise announcement of Tales of Graces on the PS3, confirmation of the third game in the Radiant Mythology series and our first look at the next Tales title, exclusive for the PS3. And to make things more interesting, Namco Bandai made the news not once, not twice, but three different times.
After the announcement of Tales of Graces f in Japan, a few fans posted on Namco Games's Facebook wall (this is the only Facebook presence Namco Bandai has). Namco Bandai posted a response, which simply stated they weren't currently localizing the game. This elicited a huge response from the fans at large, which posted hundreds upon hundreds of posts on their wall.
Namco Bandai had put up a second response, which used the phrase "series" instead of "Tales of Graces", which was taken down shortly after it was posted, creating even more fan posts. The company put up a third statement a few days ago which detailed the issues with localizing Tales games, but it still gave no word of any localizations.
Man, this week sure has been busy, hasn't it? With new news for Tales of Graces f, Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology 3 and the next PS3 Tales title, as well as the sudden posting and removal on one of Namco Bandai's Facebook walls, we had to temporarily push back the Staff Blog and Cosplay of the Week postings for this week. Now that things have cooled down some, why don't we get right down to business? :)
As you can see from this week's title, we have a new staff member, Ashley. Some of you might know her as emo_nemox7 on the forums. She'll be joining us as a News Reporter, and with the current influx of news coming from Namco Bandai, you'll be sure to see her around. ;)
As we stated in the last Staff Blog, the lack of content updates (namely the Imagery and Video sections) has been due to some behind-the-scenes updates. We still have a little bit to go, but for the most part the new backend is complete, which should help us get news and content posted and developed even faster than before.
Long-time readers of Tales Union may have noticed we haven't had a staff blog for the last two weeks. There's been numerous events going on Tales Union and the Gaming Union Network lately, one of which being the departure of Gaming Union's former Managing Editor, Kyle Wynen, as well as some behind-the-scenes updates.
And what are those behind-the-scenes updates, you may ask? We're currently working on crafting a major update to the backend managing system that is used on each of our Unions. While nothing will change for you, the user, this will allow each Union's staff to add and update content much easier than before, which in turn, will allow us to push out content much faster and quicker than previously. I've been spearheading this project, which is why there hasn't been many updates on the content front on Tales Union.
But enough about that, you all wanted to know about the updates, right? Continue reading on to learn more. :)
Today is Monday, so it's time for another Staff Blog entry! :) After revealing the Games section re-launch plans in our last entry (with the actual launch of the section coming midway last week), we're having yet another section reveal, but we also have made some minor changes since last time.
In the last few news posts you should have noticed that the "sidebar" in the news articles looks a little bit different. After some talking with the Tales Union and Gaming Union staff, we decided that the sidebar was too cluttered and jarring compared to the softer design of most of the layout. We've redesigned the headings to look much more like the Characters and Glossary sidebars. In addition, we shrunk the existing social media icons, as well as adding Facebook "Like" and Google Buzz posting functionality. We're open to adding more in the future, so please contact us if there's any specific services you think should be included and we'll look into them.
When we initially launched this new layout there was a mention made about some new content being added (although at the moment not as huge of a push as Final Fantasy Union and Kingdom Hearts Union due to currently having less staff members). Part of this new content is this staff blog, which will come out each Monday (like like our sister network sites).
While I am writing this entry, it might not always be me --- we wouldn't want to stop you guys from guessing who's next. We'll be using this as a place to talk with you guys abut stuff that's going on with regards to Tales Union, whether it's future development or what we've been up to.
Today's update revolves around a section which was a big part of the old layout but hasn't returned just yet in the new layout: the Games section. The section is currently in its alpha stages, so we don't have any sneak peeks at the moment, but the select few that have seen it so far enjoy it much more than the previous iteration.
As many already know, Absolute Zero Translations's Tales of Innocence translation patch is set to be released at the end of the month. We are very excited to announce that we will have the opportunity to interview the team behind the effort.
We're hoping to have the questions ready for the team by the end of the week, so that means if you want to get a question in on time, you will need to do it before late Sunday evening. You can submit questions by commenting on this news post.
We're hoping to have the interview up alongside the release, but it may be slightly delayed due to timing constraints. We'll update this post in the event that there are any changes.
UPDATE (6/29): We've sent in the questions to the team, so we're closing comments to this post.
