Tales of the Abyss 3DS Delayed In Japan

Abyss (3DS)3DS by Shawn

JRPG fans wanting their next JRPG fix have been patiently waiting for Tales of the Abyss 3DS's release next month. However, it seems they will have to wait a little bit more, as Namco Bandai has just announced that Tales of the Abyss 3DS has been delayed indefinitely.

Tales of the Abyss was originally released on the PS2 on December 15, 2005 and was localized in North America on October 10, 2006. The game was regarded as an improvement over Tales of Symphonia, extending that game's multi-line battle system into a battle system which allows players to freely move about the field in battle.

Namco Bandai didn't state the exact reason for the delay, so it's not currently known if this was due to a game-breaking bug, which have occurred occasionally with prior games or because of the recent earthquake and tsunami disaster in Japan, as Tales of the Abyss featured parts of the land being ripped up a number of times throughout the game.

In their statement, Namco Bandai didn't state a new release date for the game but did state that they would release new information when they could.

Tales of the Abyss 3DS Gets Its First Commercial

Abyss (3DS)3DS by Shawn

Last month, we got word of some of the extras being added to the Nintendo 3DS port of Tales of the Abyss. With little more than a month left before the game's release in Japan, Namco Bandai has just released the first commercial for the game.

Tales of the Abyss was originally released on the PS2 on December 15, 2005 and was localized in North America on October 10, 2006. The game was regarded as an improvement over Tales of Symphonia, extending that game's multi-line battle system into a battle system which allows players to freely move about the field in battle.

The commercial doesn't show off anything that we haven't seen before, consisting of anime, in-game and battle scenes. Tales of the Abyss 3DS will be released in Japan on May 19, 2011. No word has been given on a North American or European release.

Tales of the Abyss 3DS's Extras May Just Be North America's

Abyss (3DS)3DS by Shawn

Ever since the reveal of Tales of the Abyss 3DS, it's been known that some form of extras would be accompanying the port's release on the new handheld. But we hadn't known exactly what up until now, thanks to a new scan that's just been released.

Tales of the Abyss 3DS, Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo, Namco Bandai Tales of the Abyss 3DS, Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo, Namco Bandai Tales of the Abyss was originally released on the PS2 on December 15, 2005 and was localized in North America on October 10, 2006. From what can be seen in the scan, it appears that the extras might simply be the additional Mystic Artes which were found in the North American PS2 version of the game. It doesn't appear that anything else was revealed in this scan, but it may be the case that more additions might be planned as we get closer to the game's release in May.

Tales of the Abyss 3DS will be released in Japan on May 19, 2011. No word has been given on a North American or European release.

Tales of the Abyss 3DS Comes To Japan This May

Abyss (3DS)3DS by Shawn

It's been a while since our last Tales of the Abyss update, which up until now hasn't released much in the way of new information outside what we already knew previously. A new scan released today changes that, as Namco Bandai has revealed the official release date and pricing for the game's Japanese release.

Tales of the Abyss 3DS, Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo, Namco Bandai Tales of the Abyss was originally released on the PS2 on December 15, 2005 and was localized in North America on October 10, 2006. The game was regarded as an improvement over Tales of Symphonia, extending that game's multi-line battle system into a battle system which allows players to freely move about the field in battle.

According to the scan, which features characters Ion and Van Grants, the game will be released in Japan on May 19, 2011 for 6090 Yen (tax included). The bottom of the scan also talks about a drama CD that will be included with pre-orders of the game, although it doesn't appear to go into great detail about the bonus.

Tales of the Abyss 3DS Finally Gets A Scan

Abyss (3DS)3DS by Shawn

After a number of small leaks of information about the game, a scan of Tales of the Abyss 3DS has finally leaked out. While initially there doesn't look like there's much info in the scan, there are some hidden clues that come to light when one takes a closer look.

Near the top of the scan we can see that Tales of the Abyss 3DS uses the bottom screen for the world map while walking around. The more interesting part of the scan, however, is in the new artwork for the characters, which can be found near the bottom of the scan. Asch is clearly shown alongside the other characters, which could signal that he's playable more often in the game, like how Flynn was in Tales of Vesperia PS3. There's no confirmation in the scan of this, but it does seem to hint towards it.

Tales of the Abyss 3DS is currently set for a Spring 2011 release in Japan. No word has been given on a North American or European release.

Tales of the Abyss 3DS Confirmed For Spring 2011

Abyss (3DS)3DS by Shawn

Last month, we learned that Tales of the Abyss 3DS would be present in video form at Nintendo's Nintendo 3DS event. What we were expecting was a nice surprise indeed --- a tentative release date for the game.

Tales of the Abyss was originally released on the PlayStation 2 on December 15, 2005 and was localized in North America on October 10, 2006. The game was regarded as an improvement over Tales of Symphonia, extending that game's multi-line battle system into a battle system which allows players to freely move about the field in battle.

According to Nintendo of Japan, Tales of the Abyss 3DS will be released in Japan sometime during Spring 2011. Since little to no information about the port has been released, it's quite an unexpected, but welcome development nonetheless. This likely means the game is nearly complete, although no solid figures of the game's completion appear to be released on the website.

Get Your First Look At Tales of the Abyss 3DS Next Month

Abyss (3DS)3DS by Shawn

In late September, Namco Bandai announced that they would be porting Tales of the Abyss to the Nintendo 3DS, but offered little information outside of a few select screenshots. It appears that fans will soon get a better look at the game in the form of a video trailer next month.

The official listing from Nintendo of Japan lists the game as being shown in video form, instead of a playable demo. While this surely indicates the game will miss the initial launch window for the handheld, it is possible it could make a Summer 2011 release, depending on how far along the title is.

Tales of the Abyss was originally released on the PlayStation 2 on December 15, 2005 and was localized in North America on October 10, 2006.
