After Namco Bandai revealed that two demos for Tales of Phantasia: Narikiri Dungeon X would be released during July at the recent Tales of Festival 2010, many were wondering exactly when the release dates would be. After the first demo for the improved version of Tales of Phantasia was released on July 8, there had been no word on the demo for Tales of Phantasia: Narikiri Dungeon X, until now.
According to various blogs and sources in Japan, the demo will be released on July 22 on the game's official website and on the PlayStation Store. The demo will take place in Sylph's dungeon in an area called Lone Valley. Mel and Dio will be playable along with a selection of costumes alongside Londrine (no word if Kururu will be playable).
Tales of Phantasia: Narikiri Dungeon X is set for an August 5, 2010 release date in Japan. No word on an North American or European release.
We've known for a while now that the new character Londrine, who we first learned about being present in Tales of Phantasia: Narikiri Dungeon X, will be playable and included in the story for the improved version of Tales of Phantasia included with the game. However, we've yet to see her in action, at least until today.
Londrine appears to control similarly to Cress, although her movements are a bit more freely flowing. Her sword/whip weapon also seems to be carried over from Tales of Phantasia: Narikiri Dungeon X.

We've seen some of the costumes in Tales of Phantasia: Narikiri Dungeon X, as well as some of its many characters, but we haven't seen any of the character's Mystic Artes. This has changed thanks to some new partial scans which shows off some of them.
While none of the scans show the cut-ins for Dio, Mel and Londrine in-game, their cut-ins are next to the images. The cut-ins appear to be for the sword fighter, fighter, magician and Monk, as well as Londrine's Mystic Arte.
If the past few weeks hold true, this information should be available on the official website in greater detail in the next few weeks.
A new Famitsu scan has been released, which reveals some new costumes, a few new gameplay mechanics, and clarification on the addition of a new character in the original Tales of Phantasia part of the game.
Four new costumes were revealed in this scan: Sage, Magic Fencer, Thief and Heavy Soldier. There is also the new addition of a "cross-partner" system, which has Kruelle change into either Dio or Mel and synchronize with him/her to attack the enemy together (obviously, Kruelle needs to be in the battle party for this to occur).
In addition, the new character Londrine has been confirmed to be playable in the original Tales of Phantasia (this was hinted at before but with no screenshots to verify it). There is a screenshot with her present outside of battle as well in the scan, but it's too blurry to make out anything substantial.
New Tales of Phantasia: Narikiri Dungeon X scans have been released, which revealed a brand new character exclusive to the remake. If you didn't already see the previous news article about the game, Tales of Phantasia: Narikiri Dungeon was originally released 10 years ago on the Game Boy Color and was a very impressive game for its time.
The new character is named Londrine/Londrine (the romanized English name wasn't included with this scan), and it appears she is looking for Dhaos (the scan mentions the ability to travel between the past and future, but it's not clear if this is talking just about Dhaos or both of them). She appears to wield a kind of whip in battle, which attacks much like a regular sword would.
The scan also shows that some of the scenes will play out with static backgrounds behind the text boxes, as can be seen near the top where both Dhaos and the new playable character are present.
