Patty Fleur Summons Barbatos in Tales of Vesperia

VesperiaPS3 by Shawn

Just when you thought there wasn't anything left to reveal in Tales of Vesperia PS3, a new partial scan has revealed a odd new wrinkle to Patty Fleur's Mystic Arte, which was revealed in the trailer released a week or so ago. The game has numerous changes, such as a brand new character, Patty Fleur, the addition of new bosses like the Sword Dancer, Flynn being playable for more that just one battle, among other changes. The game will also be fully voiced and will include new and altered scenes, such as Yuri fighting Don Whitehorse when the party visits Keiv Moc.

Tales of Vesperia, Namco Bandai, PS3, Sony As you can see, Patty Fleur's Mystic Arte has her run across a circular game board and depending on where she lands, different outcomes will be determined, such as Barbatos Goetia (from Tales of Destiny 2). It is unknown exactly what he does when he is summoned, however, it isn't the real Barbatos that is summoned (it's a fake of sorts).

Tales of Vesperia PS3: Exclusive New Arena Battles

VesperiaPS3 by Shawn

According to a image posted on a Japanese gaming blog, it appears that the four cameo bosses from the Xbox 360 version of Tales of Vesperia will be present in an four-on-four boss battle in the PlayStation 3 port.

The port includes numerous extras and changes, such as a brand new character, Patty Fleur, the addition of new bosses like the Sword Dancer, Flynn being playable for more that just one battle, among other changes. The game will also be fully voiced and will include new and altered scenes, such as Yuri fighting Don Whitehorse when the party visits Keiv Moc.

It is unknown if this is the team battle that was not present in the Xbox 360 version, of if this is another type of battle entirely (there is only three members in the Hunting Blades guild to fight in the Arena, so they wouldn't be the best fit for the Team Battle mode).

Tales of VS: More Director's Corner Video

PSP by Shawn

A new Director's Corner Video has been added to the official minisite for Tales of VS. on Tales Channel, the Japanese hub for the Tales of series. The game will pit the various Tales of characters in a fighting free-for-all, using their well-known Artes, locations from the different games, and even items from the various games, as well as each character's unique Mystic Arte.

As always, this is a combo video. First off is Director as Barbatos Goetia (Tales of Destiny 2) going up against Dhaos (Tales of Phantasia). He strings together a series of attacks followed by Genocide Braver, which sends Dhaos away but allows the Director to get close to him, repeating the combo over again.

The second half is the Director as Kohak Hearts going up against Shing Meteoryte (both from Tales of Hearts). He strings together some attacks and Artes to throw Shing into the air, then goes into Over Limit and uses Kohak's Mystic Arte, sending Shing downwards to the bottom of the stage.

The video can be found in the full story.

The game will pit the various Tales of characters in a fighting free-for-all, using their well-known Artes, locations from the different games, and even items from the various games, as well as each character's unique Mystic Arte.

PSP by Shawn

Dengeki has put up a new preview for Tales of VS, which confirms that Barbatos Goetia (Tales of Destiny 2) and Dhaos (Tales of Phantasia) will be playable in Tales of VS, and also reveals the Mystic Arte cut-ins for the remaining characters that have yet to be added to the official website on Tales Channel.

The game will pit the various Tales of characters in a fighting free-for-all, using their well-known Artes, locations from the different games, and even items from the various games, as well as each character's unique Mystic Arte.
