More Vesperia Comes To TotW: Radiant Mythology 3
Wed, Sep 1st, 2010, 1:32 am (EST) by Shawn
After releasing a couple scans following the reveal of the upcoming Tales games for Japan, Namco Bandai has been silent on revealing news about the games. That ends today, as a new scan has been leaked which reveals five new characters that will be included in the game.
Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology 3 is the third game in the Radiant Mythology series, which brings together Tales characters from many of the games in the long-running series. The third entry features 30 more characters for a total of 80 (with 76 of them being playable), an enhanced character creation tool, a data install option and a brand new aerial-view camera angle.
The new Tales characters are Rita Mordio (Tales of Vesperia), Loni Dunamis (Tales of Destiny 2), Ange Serena (Tales of Innocence) and Hisui Hearts (Tales of Hearts). Another character is also present in the scan, which looks to be the game's new Mormo/Paneer replacement and is named Rox. Rita's Ancient Catastrophe Mystic Arte can also be seen near the bottom of the scan.
The scan also mentions that the two Kanonno's from the first two games will be playable, although it's unknown if they'll be cameos or will be part of the storyline. A new "Radiant Drive" system has also been added, which can be used to chain together artes rapidly in succession.
Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology 3 is currently set for an early 2011 release in Japan on the PSP. No word on an North American or European release.
Tales of Graces f PSN Demo Coming In September
Wed, Sep 1st, 2010, 1:21 am (EST) by Shawn
After releasing a couple scans following the reveal of the upcoming Tales games for Japan, Namco Bandai has been silent on revealing news about the games. That ends today, as a new scan has been leaked which reveals Richard's new costume, as well as news of a demo for the game.
Tales of Graces f (the f stands for "future") has an extra post-game story which takes place after the game's original ending. Without spoiling anything, there seems to be an increase in the monster population, which increases the amount of monster attacks around the world. This causes Asbel and his group to set off once again to determine the cause behind the recent disturbance.
As can be seen in the scan, it appears that Richard will also be receiving a new costume in the post-game content in Tales of Graces f, as well as confirming that he, in fact, will be playable, as can be seen in what appears to be a new Blast Calibur. The game will also have a new "Accelerate Mode" added in, which is supposed to heighten attack power and casting speed when activated. No word on how this is activated and/or what stipulations it brings.
Tales of Graces f, as with previous Tales games, will have its own pre-order bonuses. A DVD with a drama skit will be included, as well as DLC with PS3 premium themes and cameo costumes. Asbel will be getting Kyle Dunamis's costume, Sophie will be getting Rutee Katrea's costume, and Richard will be getting Judas's costume.
More information can be found in the full story.
Staff Blog: Busy Times, Busy Times
Tue, Aug 31st, 2010, 10:45 pm (EST) by Shawn
It's that time of the week (well, a day late, but we have a good reason for that :p) again --- it's another Staff Blog entry! As some of you may have noticed, we didn't have an entry last week. That was due to the launching of our new Videos section, among other things.
We were knee-deep in coding the section last Monday, so we couldn't reveal it just yet since the front-end wasn't really done (we only had the database backend setup at that point). We know our fans have been waiting for this section to re-launch, and we're glad it appears to have launched without a hitch.
It's pretty similar to the version we had on the old site, and even has some new additions like being able to share the video on the various social media channels. One missing feature we're working on is allowing comments to be made through the forums, much like comments for news stories. No ETA on this feature, but we are hoping to have it added sometime in the next few months.
See what else we have planned after the break.
Tales of Graces f Will Be At TGS 2010
Tue, Aug 31st, 2010, 11:22 am (EST) by Shawn
Last June, Yoshizumi Makoto, the executive producer for Tales of Vesperia and producer for Tales of the Abyss and Tales of Symphonia and the "big boss" when it comes to Tales, tweeted about doing a special feature in an upcoming issue of Famitsu, which turned out to just be a Tales of Phantasia: Narikiri Dungeon X reveal. He's back tweeting again, but this time it has to do with a game we already know about: Tales of Graces f.
According to Yoshizumi Makoto, Namco Bandai will be showcasing Tales of Graces f at their booth at Tokyo Game Show 2010, which takes place next month. No mention was made of the currently unnamed "Tales of PS3", but it may be possible some more concept artwork or other minor details might be released --- the full reveal is currently stated for later in the year in December.
Tales of Graces f is set for a Winter 2010 release in Japan on the PS3. No release date for either the Wii or PS3 version in North America or Europe.
Cosplay Of The Week: Claire Bennett
Wed, Aug 25th, 2010, 6:49 pm (EST) by Shawn
Today's Cosplay of the Week is a day late (you can thank the Fall university semester down here in Florida :p), but we have a extra special entry lined up, with a cosplayer from one of the more unknown Tales titles that never hit Japan. For those who haven't read our previous features, they can be found below:
- roddzki as Keele Zeibel from Tales of Eternia
- bai917 as Luke fon Fabre from Tales of the Abyss
- Yamane as Estellise Sidos Heurassein from Tales of Vesperia
- doushixion as Rita Mordio from Tales of Vesperia
Claire Bennett is the center of this week's feature, which is cosplayed by hiko-hime.
The cosplay takes place in a field during winter, which matches up nicely with the ice theme that was present in the beginning of game (as well as being the main character Veigue's main elemental attribute). The outfit is a very impressive real-world version of Claire's outfit in the concept art, and the detail to the hair is spot-on.

Tales of Graces f Unveils Website With Two New Videos
Sat, Aug 21st, 2010, 11:07 am (EST) by Shawn
Since the initial reveal of Tales of Graces f late last month, the official website for the game was only a teaser site with the game's official logo and some music playing in the background. Namco Bandai has finally properly unveiled the website, and it includes some new character videos.
There doesn't seem to be anything new in the videos, but it does give a better look at the improved in-game graphics which we've only seen in motion in the game's first trailer.
Tales of Graces f is set for a Winter 2010 release in Japan on the PS3. No release date f
See both character videos in the full story.
Cosplay Of The Week: Keele Zeibel
Wed, Aug 18th, 2010, 5:08 pm (EST) by Shawn
We're a day late due to some unforeseen issues with backend upgrades, but we have another new, fresh installment of our new Cosplay of the Week series, in which we focus on the wonderful and amazing Tales cosplays created by fans around the world. For those who haven't read our previous features, they can be found below:
- bai917 as Luke fon Fabre from Tales of the Abyss
- Yamane as Estellise Sidos Heurassein from Tales of Vesperia
- doushixion as Rita Mordio from Tales of Vesperia
Keele Zeibel is the center of this week's feature. Cosplayed by roddzki, he has also cosplayed other Tales characters such as Reid.
The construction of the outfit matches up very nicely with the concept artwork and the hair matches Keele's enough, but without looking fake like some attempts on the character usually turn out, instead looking more realistic.
Keep reading on for the full image of the cosplay.
